11월 24일 Since Daddy's been gone Well, this will be my first time writing a blog for our site and as you may be aware it's been a while since our last update. For those who don't know, Doug deployed to Afghanistan Oct 7th and is working on the ICU there and will be gone for 6 months. He's keeping busy with work, but the trauma that he sees on a daily basis is not easy to deal with. He's caring for U.S. service members, Coalition Forces, innocent children caught in the crossfire, and even the enemy. He mainly deals with blast injuries (amputations, burns, head injuries) and gunshot wounds. Please keep him in your prayers and pray for his strength and protection. His base is still being bombed by terrorists, thankfully there have been few injuries since he's been there. If you'd like frequent updates he is on facebook (Doug McNett) and is great about posting what life is like there. We will be back together in the April or May time period. As for the boys and I, well we are missing Daddy everyday, but are grateful for skype. Getting to see him on the computer has been good for Gavin. He knows that "da da went on airplane to help people with owies". Gavin is getting taller and his vocabulary is exploding! I love being able to have conversations with him! He's a goofy boy who loves to make me laugh and melts my heart when he says "Mama, i love you"! Jaeden has no idea what is going on, but is getting bigger everyday. He's army crawling and rolling around and likes to get into his big brothers toys, which big brother doesn't like so much. They are playing together more and Gavin likes to play peek-a-boo and make Jaeden laugh. I think that they are going to be great buddies! Jaeden does have a medical condition with his skull. It sealed closed way to early. Worse case scenario they would have to surgically remove parts of his skull. As of now the Neurosurgeon doesn't think that's going to have to happen. We just ask that you pray for him that his body grow properly both his skull and also that this would not effect his brain (which is the biggest concern). I'm doing well. Definitely feeling the effects of single parenting, but we have such an amazing support system of friends in our small group at home in Germany that have made things so much easier. They are always willing to help and check in on us, so that has been a huge blessing. We have experienced the Body of Christ at work in our community and we are so thankful for that! We are now in the United States with family in Washington. It is so nice to be home with our parents. I'm also so excited to be spending Christmas with extended family and finally having our parents meet Jaeden! Please keep our family in your prayers during this time of separation and check back for updates...which I'll try my best to keep up on. Also, if you have a moment we would love for you to check out our Prayer Center at the top left of this page, as well as, we love to hear from you so feel free to use our chat room on the top right of this page or use our email at the top right and send us a shout out!
